Travel Clinic and Travel Advice
We do not offer travel clinic services or provide specific travel advice at our surgery, but you may book a telephone consultation with our practice nurse to discuss:
- General travel precautions and information on all the NHS vaccinations you have already had (if this information is available on your medical record) and if needed provide you with your vaccination list.
- Find out whether your existing UK vaccinations are up-to-date
- We can offer you if required and when advised by the travel clinic the vaccinations that are available on the NHS.The following travel vaccines are available free on the NHS from your GP surgery:
- polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
- typhoid
- hepatitis A
- cholera

How can we help?
- As soon as you have made your plans, please book a telephone consultation appointment with our practice Nurse to find out whether your existing UK vaccinations are up-to-date.
- While we do not provide country specific travel advice, our practice nurse can help you with general travel precautions and information on all the NHS vaccinations you have already had (if this information is available on your medical record) and if needed provide you with your vaccination list.
- Practice nurse can give you any missing doses of your UK vaccines if you need them.
- Not all travel vaccinations are available free on the NHS, even if they're recommended for travel to a certain area.
Which travel vaccines are free on NHS?
The following travel vaccines are available free on the NHS from your GP surgery:
- polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
- typhoid
- hepatitis A
- cholera
Please note that you can have the above vaccines which are free on NHS by arranging with our practice nurse keeping in mind that we do not stock these vaccines routinely and these have to be ordered and this can take 1 to 2 weeks.
We have put together some general advice to help our patients with their travel plans.
- Specific travel related advice can be sought from travel clinics and from some of the pharmacies who may be offering travel clinic/advice services
- You could search for local travel clinics and pharmacies offering this service to get advice.
- If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
